Recording of Supporting Lactation During Incarceration
A free webinar featuring Hannah Halliwell, IBCLC, Aditi Fruitwala, JD, & Robbie Gonzalez-Dow, MPH, RD, CLE about lactation access for families experiencing incarceration. According to Prison Policy Initiative, 58% of all women in prisons are mothers. An estimated 58,000 people are pregnant when they enter local jails or prisons. Most of these parents are incarcerated for nonviolent offenses and are the primary caregivers of their children. Together they will discuss best practices for supporting lactation during incarceration. During this presentation, the California Breastfeeding Coalition will launch a toolkit expanding on best practices!
