Healing and Nurturing Together: AANHPI Parenthood, Lactation & Mental Well-being

By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the unique mental health challenges faced by AANHPI individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, and lactation, including cultural expectations, stigma, and systemic barriers.

  • Healthcare providers and community members will learn culturally responsive strategies to support mental health, navigate work transitions, manage family dynamics, and ensure infant feeding during emergencies.

  • Participants will develop skills to advocate for policies and workplace accommodations that support mental well-being and breastfeeding, fostering resilience within AANHPI families and communities.

Continuing Education

1.5 L-CERPS & 1.0 Contact Hours

  • RN: BreastfeedLA is an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing. This course offers 1.0 contact hours of continuing education. BreastfeedLA’s provider number is CEP 16435. Licensee must maintain certificate for a period of four years.

  • IBCLC: BreastfeedLA is an approved Long-Term Provider by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners #CLT113 1.5 L- CERPs will be awarded.

  • RDs & OTs: Maintain a copy of the agenda and certificate for CPEs for Professional Development Portfolio.
